Kids Cancer Support Group (KCSG) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to making a difference to the lives of kids suffering from cancer and blood disorders. We also help support the families of Ward 1A at the Perth Children’s Hospital in Nedlands, Western Australia.
The Kids Cancer Support Group was formed in 1983, with the original name of “The Life Family Support Group of Children with Cancer and Leukemia”. The organisation was started by a group of parents of children diagnosed with cancer and staff from Princess Margaret Hospital for Children. The group came together after identifying the real need of support from people who are experiencing the same traumatic, cancer journey. This is still relevant to today’s children, their families and staff.
Since then, the group has formed a close relationship with a number of external networks and medical professionals around Perth. KCSG hopes to be the ray of sunshine on rainy days or the people who, at the very least, makes the journey a little less lonely. The services we provide are Gladiator Toy delivery, a safe playgroup for children to attend, retreats for carers, and safe school holiday activities.
All money kindly donated and raised from fundraising efforts for KCSG are directly put towards helping make a difference to the lives of the children undergoing treatment on ward 1A Perth Children’s Hospital.
